POWER TO THE PEOPLE/ PARLIAMENT OF YOUTH

This is a new idea and I'd like to know your thoughts and opinions, first let me introduce myself. My name is Hala from Alexandria city.
Since the majority of the previous government members were as old as time itself and somehow were disconnected from the society- especially the youth-, in addition to many movies that pictured youth as irresponsible young brats with half a brain, therefore the abilities, ambitions and aspirations of the Egyptian youth that's going to take Egypt to much higher levels of development and prosperity remained hidden and repressed.
In my humble opinion I propose to establish a legislative board named "Parliament of youth" this board should represent all the youth of Egypt between the ages of 25 and 45 years old. Every city in Egypt should be a part of this parliament, for ex; the city of Alexandria. The board should be formed according to the mentioned class of age of the youth members of unions and associations such as" the association of engineers, the association of doctors…ect". Any citizen wishes to join this parliament and doesn't belong to any union or association, could apply as a member of any party such as" Party of Al Wavd…ect." Any citizen wishes to join the parliament and doesn't belong to either a party or an association can apply as an independent candidate for membership.
The main purpose of this parliament is to join the city's Mayer and local council in regard of decision making in variety of fields- education, traffic and others PROVIDED not to issue any legislation by either the city Mayer, local council or any other local foundation without the parliament's majority consent.
Elections should take place to appoint" Board of directors" and "Chairman" of the parliament at both city and state levels. Other elections should take place latter on to appoint committees of the parliament and their functions at both city and state levels. Both elections should be held among the members of the general assembly of the parliament. The general assembly meetings on state level should be held on regular basis- for ex: every month-, also the general assembly meetings on city level should be held on regular basis- for ex: every 3 weeks- in order to discuss the updates and obstacles that the members face as they represent the youth of both the city and state.
The most important objective of establishing this parliament it to avoid any misuse of authorities or issuing any inconvenient legislation- on both city and state levels- in addition to maintain the political participation of youth and to guarantee that every claim is heard.

Youth of Egypt

I bet you have heard in the news about the revolution of the Youth in Egypt. In my opinioun these people have made a change that others couldn't do. I couldn't post earlier due to the disturbances in the streets. I've heard in a speech that the greatest weapon Egypt has is the people.At first I looked at this change with hope and happiness but now after these disturbances I 'm not quite sure that things has gone to the right direction, However I'm quite sure that things will be better in a short time, now like a friend of mine told me " It will take years till things go back to normal"

I have never been proud of my self as an Egyptian or one of the youth untill these days.
May the lord save Egypt and grace upon her his belssings.

The good side of terrorism

Year 2011.
Such a bad beginning, a church gets blown up with many people inside in my city Alexandria.
Christians blame the Muslims.
Muslims blame the government, and the government blames Terrorists.
Terrorism, it is the new international trend that justifies any odd or extreme action by governments or people.
Any one can be considered as a Terrorist, anything can be seen as a terrorist action or                 NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT.
Terrorism justifies negligence of people who don't do their job properly unless it's too late.
Now, you can't even walk without finding the police force everywhere, asking for IDs', searching people even arresting good citizens, just to prevent from an ANOTHER TERRORIST ATTACK.

What about you? Do you see any good sides in TERRORISM?


Anyway, I'm just speaking up my mind. 

Fake democracy

Few days a go I watched an episode of "The view"; they hosted former United States Secretary of State  Condoleezza Rice. They were talking about her experience with the Arab and Muslim countries that she visited. She mentioned that there were Arab men who wouldn't shake her hand, and another highly status Arabic man introduced her to his own grand daughter who were a Muslim and wore conservative cloths then she continued that there's actually hope for Muslim to be more modern or have more respect for women or whatever she thought.

Another incident was President Bush in Egypt, there was a conference and Bush deliberately missed the opening speech of the Egyptian president, then he kept on lecturing the Arab attending presidents on the concept of democracy and its importance.

Frankly, I didn't like the attitude of neither of them. They claim to have a deep perspective of democracy and human rights while they set their minds on finding only disadvantages and week links. That's nether fair nor objective. The Arab and the Muslims overcame many wars and troubling incidents over the years. They have defeated the "Romans" the "Greek" the "Seven crusade campaigns" the" Persians" the " French" the " British" the " Nazis" the " Israelis" and more. All were great empires and their people spend quite a while in the Arab lands, and yet, we haven't lost who we are the customs, traditions, religion and the "Qura'an" hasn't changed a bit. That is due to the depth and true strength of the Arab and Muslim character. So for Bush and Rice to ignored all that history and criticize the Muslims and Arabs because their women wear too much cloth. To me it is just shallow and biest.

Democracy is about respecting the other person's believes and not undermine them no matter how odd they might seem.

It is about the right to believe in whatever you want and not having people picking up on you just because they don't have as sold history as you do.

And it is most definitely not about people seeing only the bad side in you and ignores whatever good qualities you have, simply because they don't.

In my opinion, if wearing veil would consider being a flaw in the Arab and Muslim believes, I'd rather have than tolerating homosexuality and pedophiles.

Islam urges women to wear veil out of respect. A decent woman shouldn't be too exposed. Like a diamond that should be withheld out of sight until the right person who deserves the honor of having that diamond comes.

Anyway, I'm just speaking up my mind.

Enough is enough

 

I have a friend whom I once called BEST FRIEND. This friend had let me down countless times betrayed my trust more than once and eventfully lost my respect and faith in her. Generally she is not a bad person, but she just doesn't learn from her mistakes. We have been friends for 10 years ,so at some point she was actually more matured than me – or so I thought.

Anyway there's this movie I saw once, it was about a couple who used to fight all the time. A character in this movie asked the guy: "When is it that enough is enough?" the guy couldn't answer right away. After sometime he went to the person who asked him and said: "You asked me when enough is enough?

Well, NEVER"

That made me wonder, is he right? Should you bare the burden of being a friend to a person you don't know if you can trust and respect like you used to?

 Or should you just pull the plug on this friendship once and for all and say

 ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Anyway, I'm just speaking up my mind.

How far would you go for a dream?

A while a go I read this book about a very ambitious person who had some sort of a disability that didn't make him walk right. Any way this person was quite a dreamer. He had many ambitions and dreams that didn't make him appreciate the reality that he lived in until latter when he opened his eyes he saw a person who was next to him the whole time but just didn't notice.

 That made me realize that sometimes when you have high hopes and many dreams and ambitions, instead of motivating you, they're disappointing you, they make you hate your current status and not see it for what it is, even worse it might push you to make hasty decisions or things you normally don't do .

What about you? How far would you go for a dream?

Would you hurt someone?

Would you stab a friend in the back?

The gab between the Arabs and the West

Ever since the terrorist attack on U.S.A on September 11 Th , the whole world saw the Arabs and the Muslims as extremists, terrorists and violent people. Thanks to the American media, that has pictured Muslims as terrorists in many movies and series, it's as if all the terrorists in the world are Muslims or Arabs. In my opinion bad people are every where , terrorism takes many forms and violence has masks . I just wonder is it easier on the west to take out their fear and anger on the Arabs and Muslims rather than face their own governments and blame them for the meaningless wars that they brought upon the east.
